Terms of use

Last updated September 24, 2026.

The license

Buying Paperwork gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on the devices you own, for as long as you like. Your license key unlocks the web app at getpaperwork.app; the downloaded file works without a key. Please don't share your key or the file publicly.

Refunds

If Paperwork isn't right for you, request a refund within 30 days of purchase by replying to your Gumroad receipt or emailing hello@getpaperwork.app. No questions asked. A refunded license key stops working.

Updates

New document types and features are included free. The web app updates automatically; the downloadable file is updated in your Gumroad library.

Your documents

You own everything you create with Paperwork. Because documents are stored only on your device, you are responsible for backing them up; the app offers a one-click backup.

Templates are not legal advice

The contract, statement of work, NDA and change-order templates reflect common practice for small projects. They are provided for general information and are not legal advice. For high-value or unusual engagements, have a lawyer review the terms.

Electronic signatures

The signature feature records the signer's drawn signature, typed name and a timestamp on the document. Electronic signatures are widely recognised (for example under the U.S. ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS regulation), but enforceability depends on jurisdiction and the type of agreement. You are responsible for ensuring the method is appropriate for your use.

No warranty; limitation of liability

Paperwork is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
