Makeup artist contract template

Bridal and event makeup is booked months out and delivered against a clock. This agreement covers the trial, the day-of schedule, and the money, in language a client reads in two minutes.

The template

1. ServicesMakeup for [the client and 4 others] on [date] at [location], ready by [time]. [One] trial for the client on [date]. Lashes, touch-up kits and additional people are quoted separately.
2. ScheduleArtist arrives at [time]. Each application takes about [45] minutes; the ready-by time depends on everyone being available on schedule. Early starts before [6 am] carry an early-start fee of [amount].
3. FeesTotal [amount]. A non-refundable retainer of [30]% reserves the date; balance due [14] days before the event. Travel beyond [20] miles billed at [rate] per mile; parking at cost.
4. Allergies and skinClient and party will disclose allergies and sensitivities before the trial or the day. Artist uses professional, sanitised products; reactions in the absence of disclosure are not Artist's responsibility.
5. CancellationClient cancellations forfeit the retainer; within [30] days of the event the balance is also due. If Artist cannot attend through illness, Artist will try to arrange a replacement of similar standard or refund all payments.
6. PhotosArtist may photograph the finished looks for portfolio and social media unless Client opts out in writing.

Count the faces

"Bridal party" means different numbers to different people. Write the number, and price additions per person so a last-minute aunt is easy to say yes to.
